Seth Pueschner

Seth is the type of guy that knows coming out on top can be as simple as positive perspective. Sometimes it can be a little dicey to navigate life’s greasy edges but he’s got the dirt ball life on lock.  Like a freight train he’s always moving forward, picking up the good stuff and leaving the rest behind. Seth has been a solid friend and supporter of Freedom for a long time now and he’s also been a crucial ingredient in developing our snowboard recipe. We are more than psyched to have him as a part of our staff here at Freedom. He’ll be in the shop one day a week, he’ll be behind most of the sick edits you’ll be seeing and he’ll representing us in the streets and hills 100%.

We asked him a few questions to help bridge the “stranger danger” gap…

How old are you and where are you from homie?

I’m 26 years old, born in Wausau, WI.

How was it growing up there?

It was cool. I was the young kid getting dragged along on skate journeys and involved in other antics. Me and my friends always seemed to create a fun time for ourselves.

When did you move to Madison? How do you like it?

I moved to Madison when i was 18 to attend school for audio engineering. I love Madison, it’s a chill spot with a lot of down to earth people and a sick skate scene.

What came first the skateboarding or the snowboarding?

Skateboarding came first.

How long have you been snowboarding?

I’ve been snowboarding since I was about 13

How did you get into it?

I met a kid on the bus when I wasin 6th grade, he told me I was hilarious and I should get into skateboarding, he skated/snowboarded and was a couple years older then me. My sister was also one of the few girls that snowboarded around the area at that time. I think they both had an equal influence on me. It was also convenient to have a local ski hill.

Favorite pros?

Danimals, E-man, Keegan Valaika, Lucas Magoon, Frank April… there are so many that I enjoy watching its hard to choose.

What does working at Freedom mean to you?

It means supporting my friends and others involved in the skateboarding/snowboarding community. Also creating a safe haven for skateboarders, snowboarders and anyone who wants to bring positivity to the shop.

You also have a couple hip hop records out, tell us about that.

I’m a Lyricist/Producer in a group called SPKRS which consists of myself and another producer by the name of Max Arthur. We released one full length album in 2012 titled “For Your Head” and a 5 song EP this passed year titled “Conduct”. Producing music is something I really enjoy doing and will continue to release new material for as long as I stay inspired.

Favorite place to get a beer in Madison?

The liquor store.

Favorite place to eat?

The Alchemy.

What gets you hyped?

Good people having fun.

What bums you out?

Negativity.

What does a dream session look like for you?

All of my friends and the people who get me hyped in one spot shredding everything imaginable.
